Keep scrolling for a helpful guide on how to crochet the pom pom edging for the blanket. Although it is called pom pom edging, this is actually created using treble stitch clusters.

First round: Using 4mm hook and cream, join yarn to any stitch (st) from previous round and 1 chain (ch).

Work 1dc in each st around the blanket.

To work dc, insert hook into st. Take yarn over hook.

image 3

Pull yarn through the st, you should have 2 loops on hook.

image 4

Take yarn over hook and pull through remaining 2 sts on hook.

image 5

Work 1dc in each st, and 3dc in each corner 2 ch sp.

Continue in this way around the whole blanket.

Second round: Work 7ch.

Work 4 treble (tr) sts into the 4th ch from the hook.

To work tr, take yarn over hook.

Insert hook into ch.

image 9

Take yarn over hook and pull through st.

image 10

You will have three loops on hook.

Take yarn over hook and pull through two sts.

image 11

Take yarn over hook again and pull through remaining two sts.

image 12

Repeat a further three tr to make 4 in total.

Next, take the hook out of the loop and leave loop very loose.

Insert hook into the third ch from the blanket.

image 14

Insert hook into the loop.

image 14

Pull loop through the ch st.

Then work 3ch.

image 15

Miss the next 3 dc and insert hook into the next st.

Work 1 dc.

image 16

Repeat around the blanket edge.

This should create a pom pom effect edging.

The edging gives a lovely extra detail.

That is the second and final part of the Folk Blanket, a lovely, simple yet eye catching blanket that is suitable for all abilities!
