Crisis work directly with thousands of homeless people, providing vital help so that people can rebuild their lives and are supported out of homelessness for good. They offer one to one support, advice and courses for homeless people in 12 areas across England, Scotland and Wales. They use research to find out how best to improve our services, but also to find wider solutions to homelessness. Together with homeless people and Crisis supporters, they campaign for the changes needed to end homelessness for good.
Helping the homeless this Christmas:
Each year Crisis supports thousands of people who are homeless. And now, as the harshest time of year approaches, they’re getting ready to help people again. Social distancing means they will be doing things differently, but they’ll be looking after as many people as we possibly can. And the spirit of a Crisis Christmas will be exactly the same. They will treat people with care and respect – giving them that warm Crisis welcome, so they get their dignity back and feel ready to take on life again.
This Christmas Crisis’ frontline teams will be providing food and festive treats. They’ll be on hand with emotional and wellbeing support, offering everything from Christmas games and advice to volunteer befrienders. Nutritious meals, somewhere to stay, help for the future – it will make such a difference to people.

We spotted some wonderful tributes to Remembrance Day across Whitstable in Kent last weekend.
Some lovely local crafters have been busy making knitted and crocheted poppies and arranged them in a heart shape along the seafront in Whitstable.
It made a beautiful tribute to Remembrance Day.
These fabulous crocheted poppies were delicately arranged and made a wonderful effect in Whitstable's town centre.
It's not too late to make yourself a knitted or crocheted poppy using our patterns:
