A secret yarn bomber has left an Easter themed cosy on a postbox in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

The cosy first appeared on top of a Royal Mail postbox on the junction of Wilmans Road and Newlands Way, in the town overnight yesterday.

The mystery knitter has not been revealed, but we were lucky enough to get an exclusive interview with the maker, who is behind a number of surprise installations in the area, including decorating a road with 100 poppies for the Centenary. They had these words of encouragement for anyone looking to spread a little joy with yarn: "I'm a beginner knitter - never made a garment in my life and had to teach myself crochet to do this project. If I can do it, anyone can!"

The knitted and crocheted postbox cosy features a wonderful collection of Easter themed characters, from bees and bunnies to eggs, chicks and a large hen who sits on top. It's been well received by local residents who have described it as "brilliant!".

One person wrote on Facebook: "Not sure who’s doing these. But THANK YOU for investing our community. The Christmas ones were great, these are even better."
