The first instalment is the inner rows of the mandala motif. Follow our helpful step-by-step guide to get you started.
Start with a slip knot.
Work chain stitches as stated in the pattern.
Slip stitch in first chain to make a ring.
Work chain stitches as stated. These count as one treble stitch.
Now for the treble cluster...wrap yarn around hook.
Insert your hook in the ring.
Wrap yarn around hook and pull through. You should have three loops on your hook.
Yarn round hook and pull through two loops.
Yarn round hook again and insert back into ring.
Yarn round hook and bring forward.
Yarn round hook and bring through all three loops on hook.
One loop remains.
Work chains stitches before moving onto working three trebles in a cluster (tr3cl) into ring.
Continue as before, this time working three times into ring before moving onto the next cluster. Remember to work the chain stitches before moving onto the next cluster.
Keep going until all clusters have been worked. If you feel like you are running out of space, keep shuffling your clusters around the loop make room.
Join with a slip stitch in the top of tr2cl.
Fasten off and join in next colour in any chain space.
Work chain stitches as stated.
Work three trebles in same chain space.
Then work two chains before continuing with groups of four treble stitches.
Continue in each chain space.
Seal with a slip stitch and fasten off.
Stay tuned for Part 2, dropping on 30 June 2017.
