Summer Solstice Patterns
By Vanessa 4 years ago

It’s officially summer! Saturday 20th June marks Summer Solstice, the first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, occurring when Earth arrives at the point in its orbit where the North Pole is at its maximum tilt toward the Sun, resulting in the longest day (longest period of sunlight) and shortest night of the calendar year.

Why not start off summer with a new knitting project? We have lots of lovely summer knits from ponchos, to short sleeve jumper patterns, lightweight cardigans and a summer dress.

Our first summer pattern is a super-soft sweater over a vest or T-shirt for a relaxed weekend look. A wide neckline gives this top a low-key feel, while dainty heart motifs bring a feminine edge. Two variations of lace stitches and vertical columns of eyelets add a final flourish. An ideal knitting pattern for anyone looking to breathe new life into their wardrobe.

This crocheted poncho using Summer Linen DK, is ideal to add style to any summer wardrobe and is perfect to throw over a summer dress. It’s now only £1 while stocks last!

This pattern is a Woman's Weekly Vintage original. It is a beautiful crochet pattern design in crisp white cotton and is perfect for the summer months.

There are two variations on this lovely cardigan knitted using a lightweight and delicate cotton yarn in 4 Ply.

Another fabulous light cardigan with a slight subtle sheen and two variations to choose from. This knitting pattern uses Cotton DK.
