Royal Baby Knits

By Amy Sosbe 3 years ago

Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. He was born at 05:26 on Monday 6th May weighing 7Ib 3oz and is seventh in line to the throne.

We’ve found some of our most special baby knitting patterns, all fit for a prince or princess!

From royal baby-worthy shawls and matinee coats to knitted blankets and cosy sleeping bags, our collection of traditional knitting patterns can be made and passed down the generations.

This modern take on the traditional matinee coat can be knitted with or without the hood. It’s knitted in Sirdar Snuggly DK, which is perfectly soft and has the added bonus of being able to be washed in the washing machine.

This beautiful jacket, bonnet and mitts pattern by Peter Pan is a classic design, with lace pattern and ribbon detail. Knitted in either 2 ply or 3 ply yarn, they are light and delicate.

Another set of lovely matinee coats knitted using the ever-popular Sirdar Snuggly DK yarn. These designs feature a pretty scalloped edge and you can choose from either a v-neck or round neck design.

We love this yoke design cardigan and bonnet pattern by Peter Pan. It’s an easy knit and beautifully simple.

A cute design, this sleeping bag and travel blanket pattern is knitted using Stylecraft Wondersoft DK and as the name suggests it is wonderfully soft! The sleeping bag is a practical design, with buttons down one edge and features a fun pompom!

These traditional shawls are knitted in 4 Ply and are soft and cuddly. There are 2 pretty shawls to choose from, with either a pretty leaf design or a textured shawl with a lace border. You can choose from a lovely range of shades in the Snuggly range.

Knitted in chunky yarn, these blanket patterns are a quick knit and super cosy. Choose from 4 different designs, including a moss stitch design (pictured), a cable design, a diamond leaf design and a patchwork square design.

We’ve saved the best until last, with these beautiful shawl patterns knitted in Sirdar Snuggly 2 ply. These designs have stood the test of time and are an extra special knit for the precious new arrivals in your life to meet the family.
